You’re on your own with this airline. Our first flight was from Djerba to Malta, with a stop and plane change in Tunis. After collecting our bags in Tunis, we found the check in counter for the follow on flight. Approaching the counter, we were told it wouldn’t open for another 2 hours. We waited and finally checked our bags. Nobody told us the boarding gate was in an entirely different part of the airport. Luckily, some passing stranger told us we were in the wrong place and we had to sprint across the terminal to make our flight. On our flight from Malta to Tunis, the boards at the airport said a 12:30 departure time for our flight, with a 12:00 boarding time. Luckily, we hung around the boarding gate because they announced final boarding at 11:30 and closed the doors at 11:45!

We bought tickets for a flight on Saturday. When our plans changed, I tried to change the flight to Sunday. Repeated attempts to reach the airline by phone and email got no response. I had no choice but to buy another ticket for Sunday. Now I’m trying to get a refund for the unused ticket and, once again, absolutely no response whatsoever from the airline. I’ll have to dispute the charge with my credit card and see what happens.

Cons:They boarded early, so it was a little stressful getting to the gate in time. The food was ok (little tuna and cheese sandwiches).

Pros:It was a great short flight. The crew was attentive, and everything went smoothly once we were on the plane.

Overview of Tunisair Express

While this airline primarily operates domestic flights within its base country of Tunisia, it also services trips to other international destinations, primarily in Europe. Depending on where you would like to visit, you can go to countries like Malta, France, and Italy.

Tunisair Express offers two travel classes that passengers can choose from for the majority of their flights: Economy and Business. A standard Economy ticket provides a free checked bag, the option of bringing a carry-on, and basic non-alcoholic beverages, while Business Class gives travelers spacious seats that provide additional legroom, free alcoholic drinks, and complimentary access to the airline lounge while waiting for the flight to board.

Despite the fact that this company is not part of an air alliance nor does it have codeshare agreements with other airlines, it does share connections with other businesses. For example, this airline is a subsidiary of Tunisair, a company that is known for being the flag carrier of Tunisia and for operating many international trips.

Tunisair Express’ fleet consists of three different planes, all of which are either ATR or Bombardier. The ATR 72-500 is the aircraft that the airline chooses to use the most frequently, as it is ideal for small to medium-range flights and can fit up to 70 passengers. For longer and more populated flights, the Bombardier CRJ-900 is generally used instead due to the fact that it can hold up to 88 passengers and is better equipped for flying long distances. The ATR 72-600 is similar to the ATR 72-500, but has a slightly higher passenger capacity.
