Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.

While clean, the room was seriously disappointing: 15 watt bulbs so one could not see to put on makeup. I mean, very dark. Hair dryer not working. At least two outlets non-functioning. (Glad I packed an extension cord.) Free HBO was nothing but a pixelated screen. Free breakfast was cold and consisted of bagels and cereal. Did not eat there. Big Plus: motel is next door to Stars Cafe, a local legend with great food and friendly staff.

Pros:James, the courteous, helpful night staffer was wonderful. Even brought me a bike tire pump. Pretty room decor upon first appearance. Nicely updated, uncluttered design. Housekeeping management Maria did come to the room, and was very sweet and surprised by the bug issues.
Cons:Not joking. I awoke to 3-4 small and medium ROACHES + 1 small flying insect appearing between 2AM and 6AM, coming out in all different areas of this otherwise lovely looking room. Still cannot Believe it, but my pics confirm. Of course, I could not sleep in as originally planned and Had to vacate immediately/early before my full paid-for time. Feared for a while that bugs may have gotten into my belongings/suitcase. Could not afford any insects to appear during my business conference that day. Still shocked and grossed out. Have Never seen this before. Disappointed that I was lulled into a false sense of security by the remodeled look of room. Though I sprayed everything with Lysol disinfectant before falling asleep, as my momma taught me, I actually slept there. Did not discover a problem until I awoke about 2AM. Still can't shake how bold and comfortable these bugs were with light and humans. Manager did say I would receive a refund. When I inquired, he then offered a 50% discount on my next stay. (Wait for that.) He simply did not seem surprised. I am still waiting for refund past the 3-5 biz days he said it takes. Would have been best to refund me instantly, even if cash.

Cons:The outside is so sketch. Definitely looks like Bates Motel but the inside makes up for it.

Pros:Friendly Staff! I was greeted instantly and my room was ready right away. The room was clean and the ac kept the room very cool. It was close to UT and the highway. I will definitely stay here again.
